Mechanism · clinical use
Rank is treatment line. Low cards are the first-line agents; the face cards are what you reach for when those fail. The escalation is the point: read a suit from Ace up and you’re walking the sequence, not memorizing a list.
Spectrum · coverage pathways
Rank is spectrum. Low cards are the targeted agents; the high cards cover broadly. Climbing down a suit is de-escalation in the stewardship sense: broad while you’re guessing, narrow once you know.
Drawer · onset of action
Suit is the drawer it lives in: top, emergency, reversals, adjuncts. Rank is onset: the Ace acts fastest. Onset is ranked within each drawer rather than across the deck, so the ladder restarts with every suit.
Potency · MME · route
Rank is potency. The 2 is the weakest opioid in the deck and the Ace the strongest, ordered by morphine milligram equivalent. Ordering by MME means the climb is the one a conversion chart makes, not a subjective ranking.

The quality is phenomenal. The cards are thick and hearty. The artwork is beautiful and I have learned so much just by using these cards a handful of times. I love medicine/science, the hidden details & Easter eggs, and the pharmacology throughout the deck. What surprised me most was the extra fold on the card box for the opening flap, the arrangement of drug indications/side effects, and the high-quality feel while still looking and being able to shuffle/play with them. They're medically usable, playing usable, and look like collectibles, but can still be used.
